Seasons Change. Love Doesn't.

This September will mark my second year celebrating Life Insurance Awareness month with Life Strategies. We all have our own unique style when it comes to preparing and celebrating our favorite holidays, but this year, I thought we could all celebrate this one together! Now, before you start breaking out the decorations and preparing your Life Insurance Awareness Month festivities, let's take a moment to talk about why this month matters. Rather than talking about policies, premiums, or paperwork this year, I wanted to take a moment to talk about why we have life insurance in the first place.

Imagine a young couple starting a family. They have a child, a home, bills to pay, and dreams for the future. Life is busy, exciting, and sometimes overwhelming. They purchase life insurance not because they expect something to happen, but because they want to protect the people they love most. If one parent were no longer there, the surviving parent and their child would have one less burden to carry. The mortgage, household expenses, childcare, education, and other financial responsibilities would still be there, but having the right protection in place can provide valuable financial breathing room and allow the family to focus on what matters most during a difficult season of life.

Now, that grown child may find themselves looking at their parents differently. The roles have begun to change, the parents who once protected their child may now need someone looking out for them.

Life insurance can help ensure that final expenses, outstanding bills, and other financial responsibilities don't become an unexpected burden for their children. By planning ahead, that grown child can help give their family the opportunity to focus less on the financial stress of loss and more on what truly matters, remembering a parent, celebrating their life, and being there for one another.

As the seasons of life change, so do the people we find ourselves protecting. What remains constant is the love and responsibility we have for the people who matter most. The people we protect may change as we move through life, but the reason we protect them doesn't.

This Life Insurance Awareness Month, let’s celebrate not just the protection life insurance provides, but the confidence that comes from knowing we’ve taken care of the people we love.
